Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle has revealed that he may not take part in the League of Legends Mid-season invitational after suffering a wrist injury. The G2 Esports support player guided his team to the LEC Spring Split title in what was the fastest victory in the history books for the EU, though he has revealed on social media that he is “very much restricted due to the injury.”
The post reads: “I’ve always really wanted to play MSI and play all other top teams from the other regions, but right now I’m not so sure if that is gonna be possible given that I’m still very much restricted due to the injury. The healing and recovery takes priority, but I’m gonna give it my all nonetheless. Maybe next time it won’t take me a trophy to make another post, cya at MSI!”
The Mid-season invitational kicks off on May 1st, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, with the main event group stage heading to Hanoi on May 10-14. From there, the playoffs will take place in Tapei on May 17-19. The format for the competition will be a six-team group stage, featuring a double round-robin method of advancing, with the top four bound for the playoffs in May.
