Renowned fast food chain KFC will be hosting a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 tournament on January 17th, where 16 contenders will do battle in the game’s battle royale mode Blackout to compete for a £50,000 prize pool.
But that’s not all. Those who do emerge victorious will earn the coveted KFC black card, which gives the holder the privilege of eating for free at their outlet. Details on the event are still to be revealed, though given that it kicks off tomorrow, we can expect to hear more very soon. What we do know, is that someone will be walking away with a wedge of money and bargain buckets for life.
This isn’t KFC’s first experience in gaming, with the chain having a particular hankering for battle royale titles on their Twitter account KFC Gaming, where you can find posts surrounding the likes of CoD’s Blackout mode, as well as free-to-play powerhouse Fortnite. As far as competitive gaming is concerned, the company teamed up with ESforce last year, as well as being a sponsor for China-based organisation Royal Never Give Up.
We won’t have to wait long to see who the competing content creator who takes the cash and the black card home is, with the tournament scheduled to begin tomorrow.
