The League of Legends global contract database has revealed that Barney “Alphari” Morris has signed a two-year deal with Origen, which is set to run until November 17th, 2020.
The UK top-laner made his mark with LoL team Misfits Gaming, debuting in 2016 prior to the team’s rebranding, having previously being known as Renegades Banditos. From there, the outfit went on to win the ESL UK & Ireland Premiership, before qualifying for the EU LCS after making it through the EU Challenger Series.
As for Alphari’s new team, Origen will be a part of the newly formed League of Legends European Championship, previously known as the EU LCS. Acquired by RFRSH Entertainment, known for having fellow eSports heavyweights Astralis under their wing, Origen also be holding onto founder Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez, who will be taking more of a community role going forward.
It appears that Alphari’s former Misfits teammate Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian is also looking at pastures new, if the following tweet is anything to go by:
Hello ladies and gents,
I'm still contracted under Misfits however they've allowed me to explore options.
If you're interested, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Have a pleasant day,

Where Maxlore will be playing when it comes to the debut of the LEC remains to be seen so far, but it appears that he won’t be doing so under the Misfits banner, following Alphari out of the door.
