We need to talk about Elite: Dangerous. Well OK, “I” need to talk about it. You see, it’s been around for some time. The thing is, any time I talk to other gamer’s in my day to day life, nobody else has played Elite: Dangerous. Let’s try and break down what Elite: Dangerous is all about.
Aquatic survival game Subnautica is finally set to splash down on PlayStation 4 in just over a week on December 4th (Physical copies from Dec 7th). While that date could still change, I for one am very excited to pick this up again, having had a blast with the PC version in Early access.
Oculus Connect, Oculus’ annual event for developers kicked off on September 26th with the huge announcement that Project Santa Cruz is ready for the world. This headset’s official name will be Oculus Quest. This new device sits perfectly in the middle of the portfolio of Oculus. It’s not as powerful as the PC-based headset but with its 6DoF tracking, it has become far more immersive than the earlier release of 3DoF Go headset.
If you play free games on your mobile devices every day and you’re happy – then gaming is potentially free for you. If you step it up a little and play on consoles and PC, then it’s a completely different story altogether. This leads to the question, “How expensive is gaming exactly?” Before diving into the world of paid gaming and considering allowing our kids to get hooked on, this is something definitely worth considering.
