UKLC Week 1 – DarkSpawn Debut, Excel Dethrone Enclave

This week marked the moment that we have all been waiting for; the beginning of the UKLC featuring our very own DarkSpawn Gaming. The first week saw a number of best-of-1 match-ups of the UK’s finest League of Legends players, which saw a new tower champion crowned going into week 2.

It was a brave and valiant effort by DarkSpawn Gaming in the championship opener, who went in as heavy underdogs against Fnatic Rising. Despite a promising start and earning the first kill of the competition, DS were eventually overpowered by the advancing Fnatic Rising, who would also see off MnM to set up a match with Excel to see who would earn the right to face the then tower champion Enclave.

It looked as if Fnatic Rising would blaze a trail straight to the final game, though Excel had other plans in mind and staged a comeback from being 3K gold behind. This saw Excel into the final with Enclave, one which offered up mayhem aplenty. Though Enclave started out brightly, and managed to maintain a steady gold level with their opponents for a large portion of the match. It would however all be for nought, as Excel asserted their dominance late in the game to claim the tower for week 1.

We look forward to week 2 in high anticipation, as DarkSpawn Gaming go in search for their first win as they face off against Barrage. Fnatic Rising will also be a team to watch, who take on former tower champs Enclave. The full draw can be found below.
